More Rustic Chic

Rustic Chic home decorating continues to grow in popularity rapidly. Perhaps it’s the ease it allows the inhabitant of the home to have in terms of creativity and having a warm, welcoming flat to return home to after a tiring a day. The cozy fabrics with eclectic mix of decor coupled with warm color palettes and textures enhance the spaces, inviting one to relax and feel enveloped in an snug spot of their world. Crystal chandeliers, golds and silvers are welcome in these spots encouraging a sense of glamor and surprise with supporting styles ranging from traditional to contemporary. It’s the evolution of shabby chic, cottage and chic and eclectic decorating rolled into one beautiful package…tied with twine. I love the lived in feel brought to the table by these spaces……

Bohemian Living Room

This Boho styled living room is filled with textures, colors and patterns all delightfully mixed together for an enchanting area. I love how the floor to ceiling windows allow the light to flood in. The tufted ottoman is superb, the sheen on the fabric and the gold accents let the light dance throughout the room.

Orange Room Warmup

This room proves it’s all about the details, look how the cushion is criss-cross tied to the bench….

The straight lines of these shelves, draw the eye out, making the room appear much wider. Love the soft sherbert orange on the walls…and with the white accessories it looks fabulous.

Just adore that luna console, it’s modern and Baroque traditional all at once and gets my mind rolling on a DIY. While this color has a lot more pink to it, it’s warm enough to make the orange roundup….it actually strikes me as Honeysuckle our beloved 2011 color of the year.

Italian dressing room. Just beautiful, every aspect of it.

This headboard is unique, functional and sexy.  Really like the Morrocan vibe this room radiates.

Rustic Branch Foyer Table

This sweet branch table caught my eye at Martha Stewart’s Site. Isn’t it fabulous the way it’s rustic feel is completely glamourized with a vase of gorgeous hydrangeas? I adore the way it was fitted over the radiator, making a useful little spot for some added beauty.

Bold Home Pops With Color

Love the jewel tones featured in this dining room, along with the mismatched seating and bold art, it’s elegant and fun at once ~ and that equals an enjoyable dining experience

Adore that bed, the lines are so clean and it seems the perfect spot to curl up.

Pink, yellow and zebra is so bold, funky, glam and I love it!

Have You Investigated Artfire?

I stumbled across the website Artfire a little over a year ago. As a confessed Etsy addict I was happy to find another shopping pad for vintage, handmade and unique items. Artfire’s “about us” page informs the world that they are a small company “with a passion for handmade, art, and indie business.” Based out of Arizona, Tucson to be exact, I was blown away to discover that this amazing site is run by just 15 employees.

If you have an Etsy addiction (it’s okay I won’t tell anyone) and you haven’t checked it out check, click on over to  I would describe it as an online flea market/antique shop/thrift shop where you’ll surely leave with a great find. Added plus, you can do it in your pj’s.

Here’s some treasures I found in the “Vintage” and “Home Decor” this morning:

Sarah Anntiques (that’s not a typo it’s the actual shop name)

Vintage Check Printer

$30….would looks lovely in any vintage vinette…..

Seller Luscadero has these Hobnail Milk Glass Lamps….the PAIR is $39.00 and they are absolutely lovely!

Seller Lucky Lady has these superb Shabby Chic Wall Shelves…Set of 2 is $10, with US shipping being $10.70, I think they’re a great deal for $20.70!

Trendy Bindi has these cream colored chippy vintage shelves for $20.00. If you purchase with another item from their shop shipping is just $5.00

Vintage Runway has these Amber Glass Canisters, I find the detail delightful….$35.00 for the set with free shipping if purchased with another item from their shop

Inspiring Kitchens

While I’m not keen on the mix of woods in this kitchen, I love the leaded glass doors and the molding on the black cabinets.

Love you blue island, I really just love everything about your curvy, ladylike shape…the cabinets, sigh, so beautiful, the kitchen is elegant and glamorous…so much so I bet even coffee brewed here taste’s better ;)

Subway tile in aqua ~ perfecto.

Molding on the cabinets….marvelous.

This color is one of my favorites, I had a bath done in this about ten years ago and the way the light bounced off it is something that will always warm my heart. In the kitchen I adore it and I’m really leaning towards it in our own home as we wait for warm weather to roll back in so we can get moving on it….warm weather?…hello warmer weather will you ever return?
